2026 marks 100 years since Portsmouth was officially granted city status - a milestone that gives us a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the history of the city we call home. For generations, The Portsmouth Grammar School has been part of that story, educating young people who have gone on to contribute to Portsmouth and far beyond.
To celebrate this special anniversary, we are inviting our community to support the William Smith Fund, which funds life-changing bursaries and supports important projects across the school.
From 9am Monday 23rd March to 1pm on Friday 27th March, we will be holding a special 100-hour giving campaign. During this time, every donation up to £150,000 will be matched by a generous donor, doubling the impact of your gift.
We're aiming to raise £150,000.00. So far we've raised £0.00
For 100 hours only, every gift will be doubled.
A donation of:
£50 BECOMES £100
£100 BECOMES £200
£250 BECOMES £500
Help us celebrate 100 years of Portsmouth by celebrating the next generation of PGS pupils
Please make your gift between 23-27 March to have it matched.
We are incredibly grateful for your support which helps ensure that talented young people can benefit from a PGS education regardless of financial circumstance, while also enabling the school to continue investing in opportunities for current and future pupils.
If you would like to take part in this special moment for both Portsmouth and PGS, please consider making an extra gift during the 100-hour campaign and helping us celebrate the past while investing in the future.
Thank you to our donors!
