In mid-January pupils were treated to a careers talk from Gideon Gold (OP 1991). Gideon has edited films and documentaries for Netflix, the BBC, Channel 4, ESPN and Apple TV (to name a few) as well as editing commercials for household names. Pupils received a fascinating insight into the role of a television and film editor and the steps to take if they would like to pursue it.

Then last week we were joined by Dr Kyle Grant-Talbot (OP 2009) who spoke to the Business and Economics Society about his fascinating journey in business – from working at NASA and Space X to disrupting the laundry industry by putting sustainability front and centre through his company Oxwash.

The talk provided some excellent application for Economists on government policy towards carbon taxation, tradable pollution permits and competitive market structures. For the Business pupils, his talk around costs and profit margins, financing a growing business and the challenges of growing and leading such an innovative and fixed cost heavy company were incredibly insightful.

We are always delighted to welcome OPs back to the school. For more information please contact the Development Office.
