Join us next week for our next Speaker Series event with OPs Olivier Evans (1983-1994) and David Reed (1986-1996) who will be discussing The Glasgow Climate Summit - What it achieved and what next: private sector and diplomatic perspectives.
Following their talk, there will also be time for a Live Q&A hosted by some of our prefects!
David became Deputy High Commissioner to Canada in August 2018. He joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in 2003, having worked previously in the City of London as a lawyer. He has had diplomatic postings to Cyprus, where he worked on the settlement negotiations, and to France, where he was responsible for Justice and Home Affairs co-operation. He received an MBE in 2016 for his crisis management work. As Deputy High Commissioner to Canada, he has focused on foreign policy, trade and climate issues.
Olivier brings together broad political experience in the UK, EU and internationally with public policy, campaigning, a widespread network, and four languages. He has a track record of leadership on public policy and negotiations, delivered through comms and engagement and was appointed Director for Communications and Stakeholders at the Department for Exiting the European Union in April 2019. Boasting a varied career path, Olivier will be touching on topics such as marketing, sustainability, journalism, and politics. Olivier is open about challenges he has faced throughout his life and career, speaking passionately about invisible disability.
