OP updates |
Australasia |
Every couple of months, a group of OPs whose time at PGS ranges from the 1950s right through to the 2000s, meets in Adelaide for an hilarious lunch.
Pictured here in November 2020 - blatantly flaunting their lockdown-free status - are (l-r) Joe Preston (1995-2000), Adrian Bradbrook (1965-66) and Tony Parker (1952-58).
Behind the camera was Peter Richings (1965-73) and absent on this occasion was founding member John McIlwaine (1954-64).
An anecdote from their recent gathering proves that you never quite know when your past will catch up with you. One of those present was telling a story about a CCF camp on Salisbury Plain at which he was made miserable by a “bullying and unpleasant sergeant”. A few quick calculations of dates and times revealed that the offender was sitting next to him at the table!
If you would like us to help you connect with other OPs living in your locality, please email the Development Office and will do our best to help. There are already informal networks across the USA and Australasia and we have helped dozens of OPs reconnect with old school friends.
