New Learning Support Hub opens

While the majority of our refurbishment and development work was put on hold during summer 2020, the exceptional generosity of one donor enabled us to go ahead with one very special project.
The new Learning Support Hub
The new Learning Support Hub

We were absolutely delighted to be able to create a bright, new, child-friendly Learning Support Hub positioned close to the Memorial Library.

The donor has chosen to remain anonymous, but we cannot thank the individual enough for the difference they are making to those pupils who have additional educational needs. It has transformed the help that we are able to provide them.

As pupils go through the doors into the hub, they will notice the warm and inspiring atmosphere and a much calmer feel than is possible in some of the busier areas of the school.

The new space features a large literacy room with computers and interactive screens around a central working area, and a dedicated library of learning support materials.

The Head of Learning Support has her own office which can also be used for one-to-one or small group work.

Further teaching rooms can also operate as private examination spaces for those students who might need computer reading software, regular breaks or other types of in-exam support.

Finally, there is a quiet room that pupils can use for private study whenever they wish.

Thanks once more to our donor for their tremendous support.
