We spoke with 2 OPs, Jami and James, who received fee assistance in order to attend PGS to find out what a PGS bursary meant to them and why it is so important to donate...
How did receiving financial assistance help you and your family?
Quite simply, I would have not been able to attend PGS without financial assistance. It helped my parents massively as it enabled them to send me to a school that they knew I desperately wanted to go to, though they could not afford it themselves - James
Why should students be able to attend PGS regardless of economic background?
My mum was a single parent who worked part time to look after us. Without the bursary we wouldn’t have been able to afford the fees and the financial assistance provided allowed me to attend. Your economic background should not disadvantage you from having the opportunity to access the facilities that PGS has to offer if you have the drive to succeed and achieve something you’re proud of. - Jami
Why should others donate this Giving Day?
You have the opportunity to help future generations achieve their full potential. Not everyone is lucky in life and if they can achieve something this will help them make their ambitions - Jami
Because the money that is donated makes a genuine difference to the lives of the students who are awarded bursaries. - James
